Goal: Interested in supporting community development? Your wedding donations to this fund will be distributed by the I Do Foundation to organizations that are building communities, in the United States and abroad, that provide their residents with the economic opportunity to support themselves and live stable, healthy lives.

Oxfam America
Mission Statement: Oxfam America is an international agency committed to developing lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustice. We achieve results through long-term partnerships with groups in poor communities that are already working successfully toward these goals, as well as through informed advocacy for policy changes that will improve the lives of poor people around the world.

ACCION International
Mission Statement: The mission of ACCION International is to give people the tools they need to work their way out of poverty. By providing "micro" loans and business training to poor women and men who start their own businesses, ACCION's partner lending organizations help people work their own way up the economic ladder, with dignity and pride. With capital, people can grow their own businesses. They can earn enough to afford basics like running water, better food and schooling for their children.

In a world where three billion people live on less than $2 a day, it is not enough to help 1,000 or even 100,000 individuals. Our goal is to bring microlending to millions of people - enough to truly change the world. We know that there will never be enough donations to do this. That's why ACCION has created an anti-poverty strategy that is permanent and self-sustaining.

Enterprise Community Partners
Mission Statement: Enterprise's mission is to see that all low-income people in the United States have the opportunity for decent, affordable housing and to move up and out of poverty into the mainstream of American life.

TechnoServe

The Empowerment Group envisions successful businesses and empowered individuals sustaining and enriching their communities, thus building a stronger Philadelphia.

Habitat for Humanity International
Mission Statement: Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need.

International Rescue Committee

Heifer Project International
Mission Statement: Heifer International combats hunger, alleviates poverty, and restores the environment by providing appropriate livestock, training, and related services to small-scale farmers worldwide. Heifer helps people utilize livestock as an integral component of sustainable agriculture and holistic development. Heifer's projects strengthen rural families and communities through improved nourishment, increased production and the dissemination of skills and knowledge for self-reliance. Care for the earth's natural resources is emphasized through training in livestock management, pasture improvement, soil conservation, forestation and water harvesting.

Heifer's key concept is that of each recipient passing on some of the their received farm animal's offspring to others that are in need. This principle, called "passing on the gift," assures that each participant in the program becomes a donor, enhancing dignity and participation in each project. "Passing on the gift," allows communities to bond together and become self-sustaining.

First Nations Development Institute

One Acre Fund
