Mission Statement:
  The mission of Action Against Hunger is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations of conflict, war and natural disaster. From crisis to sustainability, we tackle the underlying causes of malnutrition and its effects by using our expertise in nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy. By integrating our programs with local and national systems we further ensure that short-term interventions become long-term solutions.

Action Against Hunger is a world leader in the fight against severe malnutrition. Our team of 380 international experts and 4,000 local staff members save 4 million lives each year in over 40 developing countries. Our main beneficiaries * refugees, internally displaced people, and children * are the most vulnerable victims of war, conflict, and disaster. We directly implement programs of emergency relief and long-term development and train local staff and whole communities. Action Against Hunger pioneered the therapeutic milk formula that has significantly reduced the mortality rate of malnourished children from more than 20% down to 5%. This formula is now used by all major relief organizations. Our therapeutic feeding centers cure a severely malnourished child in just 30 days.
