All couples are invited to register their wedding with the I Do Foundation. For those couples that prefer to manage their charitable wedding activies offline, the following suggestions are provided.
Many organizations have a contact person dedicated to handling special donation requests such as this. For larger organizations, ask to speak to a development associate or director. In smaller organizations, the Executive Director may be the best contact person.
Questions to ask:
- To what address and contact person should donations be sent?
- Will the organization maintain an individualized record of donations sent by your guests? This record allows you to send thank you notes and track the total amount of donations raised.
- Will the organization send documentation to guests and recognize their donation as a tax-deductible charitable contribution?

- What is the minimum amount needed to create a fund?
- What opportunities exist to grow the fund over time?
