I Do Foundation has developed a list of recommended nonprofits for consideration by its couples. Each recommended nonprofit must meet the following criteria:
- The organization must be recognized as a tax-exempt organization under the 501(c)(3) ruling of the IRS code.
- The organization's mission statement must include a focus on issues of social justice or equity for low-income or underserved populations.
- The organization must explicitly seek to have an impact on the lives of low-income people and/or underserved communities.
In addition to these criteria, we conduct a financial review of each applicant to ensure strong fiscal management.
I Do's recommended nonprofits work both nationally and internationally, creating structural changes and providing direct services in a sustainable manner.
