Each quarter, the I Do Foundation generates donations for hundreds of
charities through the Celebration Gift Program.
The Foundation also distributes small discretionary grants through its
annual I Do Grants program. The information below provides an overview
of I Do Grants.
I Do Grants range in size from $1,000 to $2,500 and are given for general operating support. Grant commitments are for a single year only; organizations may reapply for up to three total years of funding. Letters of Interest are accepted for I Do Grants on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Grantmaking Criteria
Before applying for an I Do Grant, first assess your organization's eligibility. To be considered for an I Do Foundation grant, your organization must:
- Be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Organizations seeking funds for international projects must have a US
based 501(c)(3) organization. No grants are made to individuals, for
lobbying purposes, sponsorships, or political campaigns.
- Have an annual operating budget under $5 million.
- As its primary mission, work on behalf of low-income people or groups of individuals whose rights are infringed upon.
- Conduct work in one or more of the following categories: Children, Youth, and Families; Community Development; Education; the Environment; Health; or Social Justice.
- Be involved in long-term or systemic social change; organizations who only provide direct services are not eligible for consideration.
- Work on either a national or international scale.
- Have an annual operating budget under $5 million.
In addition to the criteria listed above, the I Do Foundation prioritizes organizations that:
- Have a well-defined, visionary theory of change.
- Are trying innovative new solutions to critical social issues.
If you believe that your organization meets the criteria listed above, you are invited to submit a one to two page Letter of Interest via e-mail. I Do Grants accepts letters on a rolling basis. Our grantmaking schedule is determined by available funds and qualified applications.
