What happens if someone replies to my post?
If a Community Forum member or guest is interested in your post, he or she may contact you via e-mail (we will relay the e-mail message to you without revealing your e-mail address to anyone). When you receive a message from an interested party, it is up to you to assess the validity of the request. As a public forum, the I Do Foundation cannot verify the identity of interested respondents. The I Do Foundation strongly encourages posters not to share personal information unnecessarily either on the website, via e-mail, or via phone.
The I Do Foundation is not involved in any communications between post authors and interested shoppers/guest to the Community Forum site. The I Do Foundation only provides this service as a platform for our friends, member couples, non-profit organizations, and supporters.

What should I do if I am interested in a donated item?
Open the post of interest to you, and select the "mail" link on the left side of the body of the message. This will open up the Private Message text box where you can contact the author directly. In order to preserve the privacy of the original poster, we will relay the e-mail on your behalf without revealing the recipient's e-mail address to you.
Donors are interested in supporting individuals who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. In your e-mail, you may wish to provide relevant information that demonstrates why you would be a good candidate for such a donation. The I Do Foundation strongly encourages respondents to be judicious about sharing personal information on the website, via e-mail, or via phone.

Who pays for shipping costs?
The donor implicitly agrees to ship the item in question to the interested party, unless the donor and recipient make alternate arrangements. Shipping costs are considered part of the donation, and donors should not expect that recipients will be able to cover the cost of postage.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Donations made directly to individuals through the I Do Foundation's Community Forum are not tax deductible. Gifts made through the forum are considered gifts between individuals. However, financial donations made directly through the I Do Foundation (through our favors or registry programs) are deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
